Mold and Moisture Intrusion Services

AEC has significant experience in performing mold and moisture intrusion studies for various commercial and industrial clients.  AEC has developed a systematized approach for assessing water problems in buildings due to floods, roof leaks, potable water leaks, sewage backup, steam leaks and groundwater infiltration.  Initially a walk through investigation will look for possible sources for mold amplification. These include: visible fungal growth, water damage, poor housekeeping, poor ventilation, and inadequate filtration. AEC will use various methods during the walk through including: borescope examination; moisture monitoring; bulk swab and tape lift sampling; and, viable and non-viable air monitoring.

The combination of industrial hygiene expertise and indoor air quality experience allow us to simultaneously evaluate the many possible sources of moisture intrusion problems. When needed, we have the capability to develop sampling protocols, conduct sampling, and interpret results. We can also recommend intervention or mitigation procedures and practices to minimize risks. In addition, our in-house toxicology and risk assessment expertise can be called upon when questions about health effects or health risks arise.
