Remediation: Design and Engineering

AEC has extensive experience in soil and groundwater remediation, including design and installation of  dozens of groundwater and soil remediation systems.  Using both standard and innovative technologies, AEC’s experienced personnel can design, install, operate, and maintain integrated systems for the containment, recovery, and treatment of contaminated groundwater, soil, petroleum hydrocarbons, and hazardous wastes.  AEC's soil and groundwater remediation services include the following:

  •  Recovery systems: wells, wellpoints, leachate collection trenches, biopolymer slurry drainage trenches, drawdown and skimmer pumps

  • Groundwater treatment systems: air sparging, air stripping, bioreactors, carbon adsorption, thermal oxidation, catalytic oxidation

  • Soil/waste treatment systems: solidification/stabilization, thermal treatment, biofarming, bioventing

  • Soil vapor recovery networks.

  • Containment systems: hydraulic barriers, slurry trenches, steel sheeting, and geosynthetic covers

AEC is routinely using new treatment technologies such as groundwater air sparging coupled with soil vapor extraction, soil bioventing, and in-situ bioremediation to speed up the cleanup time of sites and reduce costs.
